i just want to say that dental dam is a fucking awful term. who the fuck wants to go down on someone and think “this is like being a pussy dentist”. in iceland we call them töfrateppi which means magic carpet and is so much better. thanks for coming to my ted talk

I’m having some difficulty finding words to use instead of “penis”. If you have any advice, that would be great, thanks!

smut-101:

Here’s a few alternate words you can use instead of “penis”

  • Shaft
  • Member
  • Rod
  • Girth
  • Staff
  • Cock
  • Erection
  • Pole
  • Length
  • Dick
  • Mast
  • Instrument
  • Tool
  • Weapon
  • Hard-on
  • Stiffy
  • Wood
  • Boner

The alternate words you choose depend on how raunchy or dirty you want the smut to be. In reality, the sexiness of the smut lies in the descriptors.

For example:

“She squeezed his wet, thick shaft" sounds hotter than ”She squeezed his shaft"

Smut tip: Makeout Scenes

i’d like to see a post about tips for writing a makeout scene. using ‘kiss’ over and over gets really old.

The main thing to keep in mind when writing a makeout scene is that it’s not just about lips and kissing. Making out involves, the lips, teeth, tongues, hands, basically, it’s a whole body experience.

  • To avoid using the word kiss over and over, don’t forget to describe the other tactile sensations going on while the characters are kissing.

For instance, groping, bodies pressing together or rubbing through clothes, hands travelling over bare skin, body heat spreading.

  • Setting is also important to give detail to.

Are the characters sitting, standing, pressed up into a wall, lying down in bed? Each of those settings provides its own sensory details.

For example, if the characters are making out in bed, are the sheets soft, itchy, cool, are there no sheets? is the bed creaking underneath them? is the bed huge or super tiny and uncomfortable?

And so on.
